Questions? We've Got Answers

Thinking about joining our team? Here are answers to some of the most common questions we hear.

Do I need previous care experience?

Not at all! While experience is valuable, we welcome people who are new to care. What matters most is compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others. We provide comprehensive training to all new Healthcare Assistants, regardless of their background.

What training will I receive?

Every Healthcare Assistant completes our thorough induction programme, including infection control, manual handling and person-centered care principles. You'll also receive ongoing training and development opportunities throughout your career with us.

How flexible are the working hours?

Very flexible! We work with you to create a schedule that fits your life. Whether you need part-time hours, full-time, specific days, or live-in positions, we'll find a pattern that works for both you and our clients.

What is the pay and are there benefits?

We offer competitive pay rates that reflect your skills and commitment. Benefits include pension contributions, mileage reimbursement, paid training, uniform provided. Pay rates vary by role and experience.

Will I always work alone?

While you'll often visit clients independently, you're never truly alone. You'll have 24/7 support from our Care Coordinators, regular team meetings, and a supportive network of fellow Healthcare Assistants. We're always here when you need us.

How are clients matched with carers?

We take great care in matching. We consider personality, interests, location, availability, and specific care needs. We want both you and the client to feel comfortable and compatible. If a match isn't working, we'll work with you to find a better fit.

Can I advance my career with Bluebird Care?

Absolutely! We have clear progression pathways from Healthcare Assistant to Senior Healthcare Assistant, Care Coordinator, and beyond. We actively support career development with training, mentoring, and opportunities to specialize in areas like dementia care or end-of-life care.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day is different! You might help someone with morning routines, prepare meals, provide companionship. Some visits are 30 minutes, others are several hours. It's about helping people maintain their independence at home. Visit "A DAY IN CARE" for more details
